Cheshire, Hazel Grove, Arthur Lees - a Soldier in WWI - second from left back row.

Three years after returning from action in WWI, Arthur Lees married Eva Smith of Atherton in the summer of 1921. Arthur was by then employed as a tram conductor with Stockport Corporation Tramways.

Arthur and Eva lived their lives and raised a family in the area, and in 1924 Eva gave birth to a son -
Wilfred A. Lees - born in 1924, and another - Ronald - born in 1933. These images record a small part of their lives.

The photographs are kindly shared with us from the collection of Mr. Tim Lees - Grandson of Arthur and Eva, and son of Wilfred Lees.
