Anglesey, Pentre Berw, Capel Pensarn Chapel - Sept 2008

Anglesey, Pentre Berw, Capel Pensarn Chapel - Sept 2008

I had been to a service in the old church of Pentre Berw, and beginning my journey home I saw this building, which had obviously once been a chapel, and - as there was a for sale sign outside - was either for sale, or had been sold into private ownership. It turned out that both were true, it had been bought, but was now for sale again. The present owner graciously allowed me to look around and take some photos for posterity.

The Chapel and its' grounds comprises of the main place of worship, a vestry, and a school room - complete with the old oak benches with holes for the missing ink wells. Below the school room is a stable, and next door is the original kitchen, and at the gable end of the building is what was described as the cart room - similar to a garage, which sadly I failed to photograph. Strangely, according to the owner this is not a listed building - how odd is that?

Not just a photo of the outside of your Church, but also of the people that use it, of the interior, and even of the graveyard and the more interesting graves.

In addition, if you want to tell us about your special Church, then we will display your story, so as every visitor may learn and appreciate what your Church is about.
