Derbyshire, Eyam, Plague Cottages in the 1890's

Eyam is known as the plague village. In the 1660's, the disease was brought from London to the home of the tailor in some cloth that had an infestation of plague carrying fleas. Bubonic plague raged here for a year and two months with the resulting loss of life of over 260 victims.
