Family History - Obituaries.

Knowing when a relative died, and tracing a possible obituary, can yield a lot of helpful information.

A search through the local newspapers for the relevant period may well turn up an obituary. The place to find the newspapers is at the archives local to the place where the relative died. If you are not sure where this is then do ask at your local library, council offices, or town hall.

Quite often the obituary will contain a full list of mourners, and some will include their relationship to the deceased.
