Glamorgan, Rhondda Valleys, Ynyshir General View circa 1950's
is a village in the historic county of Glamorgan in Wales, also the place where this webmaster was brought up, living in Upper
Gynor Place. The village never existed until coal mining started
in the Rhondda Valleys. The Lady Lewis, The Standard, Jones Navigational
- all of the coal mines once stood on the valley floor of the
village. The last of the coal mines have all now closed.
If memory serves me right the average population of Ynyshir was
a little over 6,000 people.
