The wonderful, friendly, homely, historic, picturesque country of Ireland. Anyone that visits Ireland and isn't totally enchanted with the country and the people therein is without feeling. You have to be touched by the naturally kind and welcoming nature of this wonderful people. Ireland is a place of natural beauty, that is a pleasure to visit time and time again. I do hope you enjoy the old photographs of Ireland that I have collected thus far, and please keep coming back as I promise to update regularly.

There will be old photos of the tiniest of Irish villages, the towns, and the great cities like Armagh, Belfast, Derry (Londonderry), Lisburn and Newry in the North, and Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Kilkenny and Waterford in the South. Please email your high resolution old photos here.

This website is an archives of old photos of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, including old photos of England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the rest of the British Isles, and the Republic of Ireland (which of course is not in the United Kingdom). The website was initially launched as an aid to family historians and genealogists, but has now gone way beyond that.

This website was launched in July of 2005, with the intention of preserving old pictures in perpetuity, and displaying as many old photographs as we can of England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. I hope those of you who are researching your family history will find it of great interest.

Images are filed first by country, then by (historical) county, thus making it simple to find old photos of any location. In addition, if you want to find a photograph quickly, enter any search term you like in the search box below.

Many of the photographs date from the 1890's and 1900's, and there are even older ones than that. Most vintage photos and antique photographs in those days were taken by photographers working for postcard companies, so many of these images are scanned from old postcards, some of the most interesting being from Victorian and Edwardian times.

We have old photos of the smallest villages, and we have vintage photos of the great cities like Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast, London, Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham. Amongst this collection of old fotos there is quite a collection of old photos of people - indeed, many can genuinely be referred to as antique photos..

Hopefully with your help - by submitting your own photographs - we can maintain this position as the best photographic resource on the internet. Together we can build a wonderful archives of old images of the United Kingdom in order that generations yet to come may still enjoy them. If you have any old, vintage, historical, Edwardian or Victorian pictures of England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales or the rest of the British Isles, from the earliest years, and right up to the 1960's, not only of the places you live or have lived, but also your old family photos, then please do scan them for display and preservation on this website. Please scan them in at a high resolution, preferably either 1280 pixels in width, or for portrait style photographs 1280 pixels in height. The United Kingdom has arguably some of the most picturesque countryside and friendliest people in the whole world, and our photographs of life between the 1890's and the 1960's will attempt to illustrate some of the beauty within the four member countries.

From the mountains of Wales, to the glens of Scotland. To the unique architecture of Ireland and the great mansions of England. You will find antique and vintage photos of all of these countries, plus old fotos of people, and much more besides.

We have built this website into a reference site of great interest, a unique resource of pics that you will want to return to time and time again.

There are many of us with old photographs and postcards of the countries that make up the United Kingdom, or of our families that have lived there. These photos are a pictorial record of our times, and those of our ancestors, and with your help we can build a wonderful archives of these images.
