During the industrial revolution Lancashire became the centre of the cotton mill industry, and was also an important coal mining county, and on these pages I hope you will find many old photos of interest.

Up until 1974 the significant cities of Liverpool and Manchester were within Lancashire county, but are now in Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

The county was not all work and no play however, with seaside resorts like Blackpool leading the way as places to relax and enjoy free time.
