Peebleshire, Stoddart Family Record.
The above two images are kindly shared with us by Helen Russell of Lincoln,
Nebraska. The image of Peebles High Street comes from a book written
two times great uncle, William Stoddart (born 1852), who wrote
the book in 1913 in memory of his father, also William. He became
a surgeon and later a minister.
His father, William Stoddart (1820), attended George Heriot School in Edinburgh.
The family were from Peebles-shire.
Peebles is a market town and royal burgh, and was the county town of the historic county of Peebles-shire.
