Old Photos of Somerset in England Somerset is home to many important and well known places like Glastonbury, where the earliest Christian church in Britain was founded in the 1st century. Wells Cathedral is one of the most beautiful in the country, whilst the attraction of the Cheddar Gorge is everlasting. Bath is the home of some wonderful old buildings, remnants of the Roman occupation. Taunton renowned nowadays for cider. And there is of course Glastonbury, - the place where Christianity was first introduced to this country, and also where the myth of Arthur lives on. Click on a location on either side of the page.
