Warwickshire, Chipping Norton, Eva Williams at the cafe and garage owned by William Sherratt, who she later married.

The above photograph is kindly shared with us from the collection of Mr Don Sherratt. In 1927, after 20 years as a professional pianist, Don's mother - Eva Williams - decided to have a change from her music career and had a try at managing a newly built cafe and petrol station at Chipping Norton, Warwickshire, and she later ended up marrying the owner - William Sherratt. The scene shows Don's mother filling a Humber motor car with petrol, and is located at the Chapel House roundabout, Chipping Norton. A Shell Filling Station now occupies the site.
